More Fruit, No Knitting
The Tropical Dragon Fruit! (Tastes like chicken!):
(Actually tastes sorta, kinda like kiwi.)
Extremely magenta inside:
(The picture simply doesn't capture it.)
Fresh Figs! (These are good. Dried ones are yucky.):
Cross section!:
Extreme close up!:
(That's sorta gross, actually. Too "Dead Body Poking" for a knitting blog?)

I love these gruesome fruit innards pictures. The colors are especially fabulous!
After seeing your blanket squares from yesterday's post, I am even more eager to see your square(s) for the Grandmother Purl blanket! You do beautiful work
Nony,
I love the fruit pics. They are inspirational, somehow...sort of a way of getting my 'artist date' without leaving my house. Thanks for that:)

The "dragon fruit" is my absolutely favorite fruit. Its traditional name is pitahaya, the fruit of the night-blooming cereus, and is eaten in Guatemala (and probably elsewhere). A very few people find it a bit laxative (the seeds?). It is truly a visually stunning fruit in person, with a smooth texture and a taste sort of like mild strawberry or kiwi. I have had it cooked into n.american style deserts, e.g. once I had "pitahaya crisp".
Has anyone here eaten a durian??
I'd be interested in knowing your reactions to this 'king of fruit' ...
